Overview

Why patients choose this test.

The Baseline Test is a comprehensive blood panel that measures 50+ biomarkers across the systems driving energy, mood, body composition, and how you age — the markers a standard annual physical (around 15 markers) leaves out. It is the recommended first step before optimizing your health, because you cannot improve what you have never measured.

Your results are read against functional, optimal ranges rather than the broad "normal" cutoffs most labs use, and every panel includes a provider-led review so you leave with a plan instead of a printout.

What is the test

What it measures.

A single blood draw covers the major systems that drive health and longevity:

  • Hormones — testosterone, estradiol, progesterone, DHEA-S, SHBG
  • Thyroid — TSH, free T3, free T4
  • Inflammation — hsCRP, the gold-standard marker for low-grade chronic inflammation
  • Metabolic health — HbA1c, glucose, insulin
  • Vitamin D (25-OH) and Vitamin B12
  • Complete Blood Count (CBC) — red cells, white cells, platelets
  • Comprehensive Metabolic Panel — kidney, liver, electrolytes
  • Lipid panel — total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglycerides

Results are interpreted against functional (optimal) ranges, not just standard lab cutoffs — a value that is technically "in range" can still be far from where you feel and perform your best.

Why get it

Who it's for.

The Baseline Test is the right first step if you are serious about longevity, performance, or simply feeling like yourself again. Consider it if:

  • You haven't had comprehensive labs in over a year — or ever
  • You feel tired, foggy, or "off," but your last visit said everything was normal
  • You're starting hormone optimization, peptide therapy, or a serious training program
  • You want a true biological starting point before you optimize anything
  • You'd rather track progress with hard data than with how you think you feel
What to expect

FAQ

Baseline Test, answered.

What does the Baseline Test measure that my regular doctor's bloodwork misses?+
It adds the markers that actually explain energy, mood, sleep, and body composition. A typical physical runs a basic metabolic panel, CBC, and standard lipids — about 15 markers. The Baseline Test adds a full hormone panel, complete thyroid (including free T3 and free T4, not just TSH), hsCRP for inflammation, HbA1c, Vitamin D, and Vitamin B12.
What are functional or optimal lab ranges?+
They're the narrower band where biomarkers are associated with peak energy, performance, and disease prevention. Standard “normal” ranges are based on the middle 95% of the population, so most people inside them still feel suboptimal — functional ranges aim higher than just “not sick.”
Do I need to fast for the Baseline Test?+
Fasting is recommended but not required. An 8-hour fast and a morning appointment give the most accurate readings for glucose, insulin, lipids, and certain vitamins.
Should I stop my supplements before testing?+
Only if you want a true unsupplemented baseline — in that case, pause supplements for 2 weeks beforehand. If you'd rather know how your current regimen is working, keep taking them and we'll read that as your “new baseline.”
How is hsCRP different from regular CRP?+
hsCRP (high-sensitivity C-reactive protein) detects the low-grade chronic inflammation linked to cardiovascular disease, metabolic dysfunction, and accelerated aging. Standard CRP only flags acute, high-level inflammation from infection or injury.
How often should I repeat the Baseline Test?+
Every 6 months during your first year of optimization, then annually once your biomarkers are dialed in.
