Overview

Why patients choose this test.

Your gut is the operating system for the rest of your body — immune function, mood, energy, skin, hormones, weight, and inflammation all route through it. When the gut is off, everything is off, and almost no standard physical tests it properly. The Gut Health Package is a 125+ marker assessment of three critical layers of gut health.

It's built for anyone with chronic bloating, IBS-type symptoms, food sensitivities, skin issues, autoimmune flares, brain fog, or stubborn weight that diet alone hasn't fixed. Once you can see the picture, the path forward becomes obvious.

What is the test

What it measures.

A three-test bundle analyzing 125+ markers across the major systems of gut function:

  • Intestinal Permeability Assessment — clinical biomarkers (zonulin, lipopolysaccharide antibodies, actomyosin antibodies) measuring whether your gut barrier is intact or letting foreign particles into circulation ("leaky gut")
  • Microbiome Analysis — a comprehensive stool or breath assessment of bacterial diversity, beneficial species, pathogenic organisms (parasites, harmful bacteria, yeast overgrowth), digestive enzyme function, inflammation markers (calprotectin), and short-chain fatty acid production
  • Food Sensitivity Test — IgG and IgA antibody response to 96 commonly consumed foods, including dairy, gluten, eggs, soy, nuts, grains, fruits, and vegetables
Why get it

Who it's for.

Get the Gut Health Package if you experience any of the following:

  • Bloating, gas, constipation, or diarrhea on a regular basis
  • IBS, SIBO, or unexplained digestive symptoms
  • Skin issues — acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea
  • Brain fog, fatigue, or mood swings that follow meals
  • Autoimmune conditions (Hashimoto's, RA, lupus) — about 70% of immune function lives in the gut
  • Food reactions you can't quite pin down
  • Weight that won't shift despite a clean diet
  • Joint pain or chronic inflammation

Years of elimination diets and probiotic experiments can be replaced by a focused round of data and a specific provider-led protocol — that's the value of testing instead of guessing.

What to expect

From booking to results.

Sample collection happens in two parts:

  • Part 1 (blood draw) — a 10–15 minute appointment covers intestinal permeability markers and the food sensitivity panel, at our Morristown or Colts Neck, NJ location or via mobile draw within our service areas.
  • Part 2 (at-home) — the microbiome kit ships to your door for stool collection, with everything you need plus prepaid return shipping.

Components return on staggered timelines, typically 2–4 weeks total. A True Heal Wellness provider then integrates all 125+ markers into a single gut-restoration plan — targeted dietary changes, gut-healing supplementation (often the 5R framework: Remove, Replace, Reinoculate, Repair, Rebalance), and any advanced therapies appropriate for your results.

Preparation: avoid probiotics for 2 weeks before the microbiome collection (your provider will confirm specifics).

FAQ

Gut Health Package, answered.

What is leaky gut, and is it real?+
Leaky gut (intestinal permeability) is a clinically measurable condition where the tight junctions between gut cells loosen, allowing food particles, bacteria, and toxins into the bloodstream. It's documented in peer-reviewed research and increasingly recognized as a driver of autoimmune disease, inflammation, and food sensitivities.
How is a microbiome test different from a regular stool test?+
Standard stool tests check for infection or blood. Comprehensive microbiome analysis identifies hundreds of bacterial species, evaluates diversity, flags pathogenic overgrowth (parasites, harmful bacteria, yeasts), and measures inflammation and digestive-function markers.
Are IgG food sensitivity tests reliable?+
IgG testing is a useful tool for identifying foods driving inflammation, especially when interpreted alongside symptoms and gut-barrier status. It's not the same as IgE allergy testing. Your provider uses IgG results as a starting point for elimination and reintroduction, not a permanent ban list.
How long does it take to heal the gut once I have my results?+
Most people see meaningful symptom improvement within 4–6 weeks of a personalized protocol. Deeper restoration — microbiome rebalancing and full barrier repair — typically takes 3–6 months.
Should I do the Gut Health Package or just the Food Sensitivity Test?+
The Food Sensitivity Test alone tells you which foods to remove. The Gut Health Package tells you why those sensitivities developed and how to heal the underlying gut so you can eventually eat those foods again — usually the better long-term investment.
Do I need to fast for this test?+
The blood components don't require fasting. Follow the kit instructions for microbiome prep — typically avoiding probiotics for 2 weeks beforehand.
