Overview

Why patients choose this test.

The Total Baseline Test is the deep-dive version of our Baseline panel. It includes every marker in the standard Baseline — 50+ biomarkers across hormones, thyroid, inflammation, metabolic health, lipids, and core vitamins — then adds three high-leverage panels that explain symptoms most testing misses: cortisol, intestinal permeability, and cardiovascular genetic risk.

It's the test for people who want every relevant system — heart, hormones, gut, stress, and metabolism — mapped in a single comprehensive sitting, with one provider-led review that connects the results into a single plan.

What is the test

What it measures.

The most comprehensive single-panel blood test we offer. It includes everything in the Baseline Test:

  • Full hormone panel — testosterone, estradiol, progesterone, DHEA-S, SHBG
  • Complete thyroid — TSH, free T3, free T4
  • hsCRP (inflammation)
  • HbA1c, glucose, insulin (metabolic health)
  • Vitamin D and Vitamin B12
  • Complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panel, and lipid panel

Plus three advanced panels:

  • Cortisol — your primary stress hormone, to assess adrenal function and the burnout/fatigue pattern
  • Intestinal permeability — a clinical-grade "leaky gut" assessment
  • Cardiovascular genetic risk factors — including lipoprotein(a), an inherited, independent heart-disease risk factor standard cholesterol tests miss
Why get it

Who it's for.

Choose the Total Baseline over the standard Baseline if:

  • You're chronically stressed, burned out, or wake up tired no matter how long you sleep (cortisol)
  • You have any gut symptoms — bloating, food sensitivities, brain fog, autoimmune issues (intestinal permeability)
  • You have a family history of heart disease or want true cardiovascular risk stratification (lipoprotein(a))
  • You want one comprehensive test instead of layered follow-ups
  • You're building a serious longevity protocol and need the full picture
What to expect

From booking to results.

  • Booking — reserve online and our team confirms your appointment.
  • At your appointment — a 10–15 minute blood draw at our Morristown or Colts Neck, NJ location, or via mobile draw within our service areas. The cortisol component may include a saliva or urine collection depending on the protocol your provider recommends.
  • Results — typically available within 7–10 business days.
  • Consultation — a True Heal Wellness provider walks you through every system (hormones, thyroid, inflammation, metabolic health, stress, gut, cardiovascular risk) and builds one unified plan.

Preparation: a morning appointment is strongly recommended for accurate cortisol, and an 8-hour fast is suggested where possible.

FAQ

Total Baseline Test, answered.

What's the difference between the Baseline Test and the Total Baseline Test?+
The Total Baseline includes everything in the Baseline Test (50+ biomarkers) plus cortisol, intestinal permeability markers, and cardiovascular genetic risk factors. The Baseline Test is the right starting point; the Total Baseline is the comprehensive choice if you have stress, gut, or cardiovascular concerns.
Why does cortisol matter, and why isn't it on standard bloodwork?+
Cortisol is your primary stress hormone and a major driver of fatigue, weight gain, sleep problems, and accelerated aging. Standard panels skip it because acute cortisol fluctuates — but a single morning measurement combined with your symptoms tells a provider a great deal.
What is intestinal permeability, and why test for it?+
Intestinal permeability (“leaky gut”) is when the gut lining lets food particles and toxins into the bloodstream, driving inflammation, food sensitivities, brain fog, and autoimmune flares. Testing identifies a root cause that diet alone often can't fix.
What is lipoprotein(a) and why is it on this test?+
Lipoprotein(a), or Lp(a), is a genetically determined particle that independently raises cardiovascular risk — and standard cholesterol tests miss it entirely. Roughly 1 in 5 people have elevated Lp(a), and knowing your level changes how aggressively you should manage other heart-risk factors.
Do I need to fast for the Total Baseline Test?+
An 8-hour fast and a morning appointment are strongly recommended for accurate glucose, insulin, lipid, and cortisol readings.
Should I get the Total Baseline or the Total Wellness Lab Package?+
Choose the Total Baseline if you want a comprehensive blood panel. Choose the Total Wellness Lab Package if you also want food sensitivity testing, micronutrient analysis, and toxin screening — it bundles the Total Baseline with three additional tests at a significant discount.
